The Night Comes Alive at NIGHT PEOPLE
The Saint at Large Celebrates 35 Years of Music and Mystery with NIGHT PEOPLE
New York’s underground is as alive and thriving as it has ever been, and this weekend The Saint at Large celebrates that enduring legacy of music and mystery. NIGHT PEOPLE follows that history all the way back in time to the mystique of the ancient pyramids in celebration of The Saint’s milestone 35th anniversary.
Inextricably woven into the fabric of New York’s party culture, The Saint was the first gay owned and operated superclub in the city’s history. From 1980-1988, it served as a haven for New York’s most ambitious and enlightened gay revelers, and in the years since it shut its doors, it has roamed the city streets, producing the annual Black Party, one of the world’s largest annual fetish events and a New York institution.
Music has always been the heart and soul of The Saint, and NIGHT PEOPLE’s generational mix of old and new perfectly honors this important anniversary. Nita Aviance of The Carry Nation will pair off with Sharon White, the only female DJ to ever play at the original Saint nightclub, and Ryan Smith of Wrecked will tag team with Michael Fierman, best known as the high priest of 90’s Black Parties.
The underground partiers of the 80s have moved from the East Village to Brooklyn, and the Saint once again taps into that experimental energy to facilitate a truly immersive experience. The Wick, a massive Williamsburg warehouse venue, will be transformed into a moonlit desert where pyramids stretch to the sky and the night comes alive. Saint-heads, techno travelers, party boys, curiosity seekers and Night People will journey into the unknown for this pre-holiday season bash marking another chapter in the never-ending story of The Saint.
