It’s Getting Hot in Here: Rising Tide NYC Fundraiser
Date(s) - 11/04/2015 - 12/04/2015
9:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Party like its the end of the world as we know it….cuz it is!
Join Rising Tide NYC at Divine Haus for a dance party you won’t forget, not even when the seas are rising and the storm’s are brewing. Despite the state of the world, we have a lot to celebrate! Spring is here. The Flood 10 are not guilty. We are a new group in town with a series of actions to pull off and we want to throw down with you. Need we say more?
Who the hell are we, you might ask? We are part of a nationwide network of creative direct action activists who like to target the people and institutions who obscenely profit from economic, racial and climate injustice. Here in NYC, we use disruptive actions with a particular focus on who profits from stalling action on climate change, and try to highlight how poor communities and communities of color disproportionately suffer from their disastrous policies.
Rising Tide NYC organized the Flood Wall Street action the day after the People’s Climate March in September 2014. Now we are planning a mid-April mobilization that includes a solidarity action with the Gulf South Rising coalition on the 5th anniversary of the BP Oil Spill, and a campaign demanding the end to new fossil fuel infrastructure in the region. We’re also ramping up for a ton of actions later this year in collaboration with groups all over the country. Its gonna be a hot year!
Right now we need some cash, so this is a fundraiser, and we are going to make it worth your while!!
